Thanks for stopping by!
I’m Rosa, I’m a children’s book illustrator and surface pattern designer. I work in my home studio overlooking the sea with my 2 beautiful children and partner.
Children’s book illustration
My process for creating my book illustrations is to scan in my pages and pages of hand drawn sketches and painted textures, take them in to Photoshop and draw and layer up the elements to create the final spread. I find this approach to be just the right mix of unpredictability and playfulness with the welcome flexibility that Photoshop offers!
My dream book projects would be centred around nature, kindness, everyday routines and exploring big feelings and poetry collections for kids. I am also fascinated by the emerging science of awe and would love to explore this in a book for children.
And of course fairies and fruit houses, one of my favourite books growing up was Roald Dahl’s James and the Giant peach, I think I’ve wanted to live in a fruit house ever since, whenever I don’t know what to draw, my pencil always ends up going to this topic!
I’ve been lucky enough to illustrate over 20 books for clients including Cottage Door Press, Editions Quatre Fleuves, Elephant and Bird books, Ladybird, Little Tiger / Tiger Tales and North Parade Books.
For books I’m represented by Becky at The Plum Agency

Surface Pattern Design
I’ve had the privilege of working for many nursery and home retailers across the world creating imaginative and commercial surface pattern and toy designs. I love creating repeat patterns and placement prints and seeing them come to life on a large range of products from gift bags to furniture, clothing to teepees.
Depending on the look of the placement or pattern, I work much the same way as I do for picture books but it’s split between Photoshop and Illustrator. I love to work on playful, colourfilled designs, especially for the children’s market. I work to clients briefs and also have a large portfolio of designs ready to buy or license over on my agents website.
Over many years I been very fortunate to design for clients including Argos, Dashwood Studios, Dream Genii, Frugi, Great Little Trading Company, Harrods, Hibou Home, John Lewis, Mamas and Papas, Mothercare, Play and Store, Silvercross, TK Maxx, Trend Bible and Wilkos
For surface pattern I’m represented by the wonderful team at A Fresh Bunch
